(From The Climate Reality Project website: Some people wait for the future. Leaders create it.
Ordinary people face challenges. Climate Reality Leaders embrace them. The Climate Reality Leadership Corps is a global network of activists committed to taking on the climate crisis and solving what is far and away the greatest challenge of our time.
The program takes great leaders and makes them exceptional, providing the training in climate science, communications, and organizing to tell the story of climate change and inspire communities everywhere to take action. The result is a dynamic group of world-changers shaping the conversation on climate in forums from family dinners to international summits and building a 21st-century movement for solutions.)
We are in an emergency of planetary proportions. The time requires leaders to step up and effect change. The Climate Reality Project recently trained 700 new climate leaders from 58 countries in its 31st International Training. In the photo below, TCRP President Ken Berlin elucidates the challenge to all climate reality leaders, translating our objectives, into real-world actions.
For such great tasks, leaders are needed. Leaders don’t wait. They act. A proof of concept is the rapid prototyping that a random group of creative trainees put together in so short a time. It is a petition for Philippine presidential candidates to take a stand against coal-fired power plants. This is the Avaaz petition:
And the video they made to support the petition:
Only a week after the training, Acts of Leadership are being done all over the world by this remarkable group of passionate climate warriors. Initiatives and collaborations are cropping up, making it clear that together we can change climate change.
Welcome to the Climate Reality Leadership Corps! You are 700 reasons for climate hope!
